Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday signed defenseman David Breazeale and forwards Aaron Huglen and Zach Urdahl to AHL contracts. Breazeale and Huglen signed two-year deals starting next season, and Urdahl is signed to a one-year deal for next season. Breazeale also inked an amateur tryout contract that will allow him to join Wilkes-Barre for the remainder of this season.
Breazeale, 24, just wrapped up his senior season at the University of Maine, where he served as captain the last two seasons. He's 6 foot 4, 205 pounds and a left-handed defenseman. He recorded three goals and 10 assists in 38 games last season.
Huglen, 24, was a senior at the University of Minnesota this season, where he also served as captain. He's 6 feet, 181 pounds, a right-handed shot who can play both wing and center. He recorded five goals and 14 assists in 38 games this season. He was originally a 2019 fourth-round pick of the Sabres but went unsigned.
Urdahl, 23, spent two years at the University of Wisconsin before spending the last two years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He recorded 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 games in his senior season. He's a 6-foot-1, 194-pound left-handed winger.
