Forward Gabe Klassen scored his first AHL goal in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 5-2 win over the Bridgeport Islanders on Sunday.
Klassen, 21, is in the first of a two-year AHL contract after being signed out of the WHL over the summer. The 5-foot-10, 183-pound left-handed shot has spent most of this season in Wheeling, where he scored 19 goals and 24 assists in 65 games. Sunday's game was his third in the AHL.
Newly-signed AHL-contracted forward Nolan Renwick netted his second pro goal after scoring his first on Saturday. Forward Zach Gallant, a former Red Wings prospect who is back in the AHL after a stint in Canadian university hockey, scored his first goal as a Penguin in his ninth game. Atley Calvert scored his eighth, and Avery Hayes added an empty-netter to tie Emil Bemstrom for the team-lead in goals with 22. Sergei Murashov stopped 30 of 32 shots.
