ESPN polled what it described as "more than 50 broadcasters, analysts, reporters and editors to rate players based on how good they will be in the 2023-24 season compared to their peers" and compiled a ranking of the anticipated top 100 players for the season.
Notably absent from the list: Evgeni Malkin, who is presumably "Mr. 101" once again. He was previously left off the NHL's top 100 players in league history in 2017 for the NHL's centennial.
Penguins players who made the list: Sidney Crosby (No. 23), Erik Karlsson (No. 41), Kris Letang (No. 56), Jake Guentzel (No. 71).
