After Alex Ovechkin surpassed Wayne Gretzky as the league's all-time leading goal-scorer, Budweiser Canada created celebratory cans for all of the goaltenders to have played at least one game against Ovechkin and stopped at least one shot from him without allowing a goal.
The special cans say "Zero of 895," and "The greatest goal-scorer of all time couldn't score on you." The cans are personalized with the number of shots each goaltender faced from Ovechkin, and has the shot total next to "0 goals."
Joel Blomqvist, who faced the Capitals twice this year and stopped a total of 11 shots from Ovechkin, is among the 28 goaltenders to receive cans. Other recipients include former Penguins Jeff Zatkoff (four shots), Jocelyn Thibault (five shots), Mathieu Garon (16 shots) and Mike Condon (18 shots).
