The Penguins will have an optional morning skate at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex at 10:30 a.m. today. I'll have live updates below:
• Nieto, Bemstrom and Aho are still out on the ice following the skate. I'd assume Bemstrom still being out there means we'll see Koppanen in the lineup again tonight.
• On the ice this morning: Tristan Jarry, Phil Tomasino, Kevin Hayes, Matt Nieto, Joona Koppanen, Boko Imama, Connor Dewar, Vladislav Kolyachonok, Matt Grzelcyk, Emil Bemstrom, Sebastian Aho.
• TommyNovak did not skate this morning. RyanShea and P.O Joseph did.
• Alex Nedeljkovic will start in net against the Blue Jackets tonight at PPG Paints Arena, per Sullivan. First start for him since March 7 in Vegas.
"He understands it, he's a good pro. He controls what he can and he keeps himself ready," Sullivan said. "The reality is, with the amount of games we've just played and that we have moving forward, it requires us to get both of those guys involved. When we make these types of decisions, we're thinking in terms of helping the team win the game right in front of us, but also a little bit of big picture decision making. Also, how do we set both of these guys up for success? So when they do go in the net, they have the ability to give us a chance to win. Ultimately, if we can set them up for success, it's going to help the Penguins have success."
• Good morning from Cranberry. MikeSullivan will speak here shortly.
