Gabe Klassen scored his 18th goal of the year in the final two minutes to bring the Nailers within a goal, but Wheeling's rally ultimately fell short in a 5-4 loss to the Reading Royals at WesBanco Arena on Saturday.
The Nailers' other goals were David Jankowski's 11th, Logan Pietila's ninth and Matthew Quercia's 18th. ECHL-contracted goaltender Thomas Gale stopped 30 of 35 shots.
