• Six of Duquesne’s eight losses this season have been by seven points or less. Four have been by five points or less. Each of the Dukes’ last three losses have been by a combined 13 points.
• The Dukes made some strides in their loss to Maine on Wednesday, putting together a better showing from long range (42.3%) and winning the rebounding battle (39-28). Good things happen when they’re finding success in those areas. But mistake-free basketball also has to be played for the results to wind up in their favor.
• Pat Skerry is in his 14th season as head coach of the Tigers and has guided them to an overall record of 217-205. Towson has dropped four consecutive games, including an 84-71 loss in its last game to UMBC on Dec. 7.
• Towson is led by sophomore guard Dylan Williamson, who is averaging 15.3 points per game and has shot 44.4 percent from the floor, including 45.8 percent from three-point range. Sophomore wing Tyler Tejada, returned to the lineup and scored 18 points against UMBC after missing the last six games. He’s averaging 15.5 points and 4.3 rebounds through four games this season.
