Since the first wave of free-agent signings has come and gone, there's been some hope that Terrell Edmunds might possibly return to the Steelers' defense.
Now, it looks like that's not going to happen.
Edmunds posted what can easily be interpreted as a "goodbye" to Pittsburgh, thanking the team and city for the first five years of his NFL career.
Thank you Pittsburgh for making my dreams come to reality! You will forever be apart of me and my journey! I’m thankful for all of my coaches, teammates and every fan supporting! To my bruddas y’all kno how we rockin, it’s gonna be luv until the wheels fall off 🙏🏾🖤 #ManTime🫡🔒 pic.twitter.com/nTujRQ4Oej

There is no news yet of Edmunds' future or where he might be signing. But, him not returning to Pittsburgh certainly changes the outlook of the remainder of free agency and the draft.
The Steelers could certainly use a third safety that could play alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick and Damontae Kazee in the same three-safety that was deployed in 2022. As of now, the other rostered safeties are Tre Norwood, Miles Killebrew, Elijah Riley and Scott Nelson.
