There was a scary moment for Jeff Petry late in the third period Saturday night of the Penguins' 3-1 win over the Sabres at PPG Paints Arena.
He was skating behind the Penguins' net when he was hit by Buffalo forward Alex Tuch. Petry came away from the hit holding what appeared to be his left forearm or wrist area, after his wrist got twisted in an uncomfortable way during the hit. Petry dropped to his knees and was kicking his feet while on the ice in pain:
Play was stopped, and Petry immediately rushed off the ice and to the locker room while still holding his arm. Given that there was only 1:51 remaining in the game, he didn't return after that.
When the locker room opened for postgame media availability, though, Petry was in the locker room in his stall, looking like nothing happened. He didn't have his wrist or arm wrapped up at all, and wasn't icing it either.
"It hurt," Petry said of that moment. "But I'm all right."
Petry was then asked if there was anything to be worried about moving forward.
"No, I don't think so," he said with a smile. "But we'll see."
The Penguins have a scheduled day off Sunday, so Petry has a day to get any rest needed before the next game, Monday night against the Stars at PPG Paints Arena.
