ALTOONA, Pa. -- Despite an early lead, Robert Morris was unable to keep Detroit Mercy at bay falling 79-62 Wednesday night at the UPMC Events Center.
The loss drops the Colonials to 6-18 on the season and 4-11 in the Horizon League. Robert Morris jumped out to an early 16-9 advantage before the Titans came roaring back scoring 25 points in just over 10 minutes of play.
"I thought we got off to a good start and had some good energy to start the game," head coach Andrew Toole said. "We have some standards within our program and the first one is sustained effort. We certainly weren't able to do that. When we don't guard or guard well, we struggle. That was the case in point tonight."
Kahliel Spear led the way for Robert Morris with 15 points and seven rebounds while Kam Ferris added 11 points of his own.
