ALTOONA, Pa. -- The Steelers made a bevy of moves ahead of their matchup against Baltimore Sunday afternoon.
The team activated cornerback Joe Haden and center Kendrick Green from the Reserve/COVID-19 List. Haden and Green had gone on the list Wednesday, but thanks to the new NFL protocols were able to be removed with two negative tests ahead of Sunday's game.
When the Steelers take the field against the Ravens, it could very well be the final game for Haden in a Steelers uniform as his contract is up at the end of the season and no extension seems to be in sight. Haden has missed five games due to injury this season, but he['s racked up 29 tackles, six pass deflections and a forced fumble.
Green has struggled at times throughout his rookie season, though, his future appears to be bright according to quarterback Ben Roehtlisberger just at a different position. While his return might not seem like much, it does add to the depth up front offensively and gives the Steelers a shot to see how he's improved from game to game.
Haden and Green were far from the only moves made by the Steelers as guard Rashaad Coward was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad. Wide receiver Tyler Vaughns was released from the practice squad while kicker Sam Sloman was signed to the practice squad.
In a surprise move, defensive end Isaiah Buggs was waived by the Steelers Saturday after appearing in 10 games and recording 17 total tackles on the season. Buggs had fallen out of the rotation up front as a result of the play of Henry Mondeaux, Carlos Davis and Montravious Adams. The move comes as a surprise with Sunday's finale being only a day away and after Buggs had been listed on the injury report with an illness Friday and did not practice.
The Steelers will be without wide receiver James Washington against Baltimore as he was added to the Reserve/COVID-19 List Saturday.
