Poulin, Legare end junior careers with loss in Final taken at PPG Paints Arena (Penguins)

Samuel Poulin, Nathan Legare in the Foreurs' Final round against the Tigres.

The junior careers of Penguins forward prospects Samuel Poulin and Nathan Legare came to an end on Saturday when their Val-d'Or Foreurs loss to the Victoriaville Tigres, 3-2, in double overtime of Game 6 of the QMJHL's President Cup Final.

Both Poulin and Legare were scoreless in Game 6. Poulin recorded six shots on goal and Legare recorded three, in addition to hitting the post midway through the first overtime period.

Legare led the Foreurs in goals in the postseason with 14 in 15 games, and Poulin ranked second with 11 goals. Poulin ranked third in total points with 19, and Legare ranked fourth with 18.

With both players now 20 years old, they're eligible to play in the AHL next season and are expected to turn pro.

Poulin played in 192 regular-season games over his four-year QMJHL career, all with the Sherbrooke Phoenix until his trade to Val-d'Or in the middle of this season. He scored 229 points (88 goals, 141 assists) in those 192 games.

Legare appeared in 224 games over the last four seasons, all with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar until he was also traded to Val-d'Or this season. He finished with a pace just over a point per game in the regular season, scoring 225 points (106 goals, 119 assists) in those 224 games.
