On the 60th anniversary of baseball's most iconic home run, a group of Pirates fans who have made it their annual mission to relive the game will get to do so this year at PNC Park.

October 13 of course marks the date that Pirates Hall of Fame second basemen Bill Mazeroski hit his iconic home run in the bottom of the ninth in Game Seven of the 1960 World Series. To this day it remains the only Game Seven walk off home run in baseball history.

As time goes on, Pirates fans still celebrate Maz's homer, with some doing so via a special tradition. On October 13, 2007 a group of Pirates fans gathered at the Old Forbes Field outfield wall in Oakland where they listened to the entire contest's broadcast on radio recording. Each year since, the group has continued to meet and commemorate the special moment in club history.

Due to the pandemic, the group, now known as the 'Game 7 Gang' is unable to safely gather this year in Oakland. To help keep their tradition alive, the Pirates announced that they will host the group of nearly 30 fans at PNC Park where they can listen to the game on the field. Pirates President Travis Williams, along with many other members of the organization's staff will join the 'Game 7 Gang' in a socially distant celebration.

The event will be limited to the selected fans, Pirates staff and media. DK Pittsburgh Sports will be in attendance providing coverage of the 60 year celebration.
