The Penguins on Tuesday will play an actual hockey game against another team for the first time since March 10 when they play their exhibition game against the Flyers at 4 p.m.
It's the last game-like opportunity for any tune-ups before the real games get underway Aug. 1 when the Penguins open their qualifying round series against the Canadiens.
Mike Sullivan said Tuesday morning that the plan is for Matt Murray to start the first half of the game against the Flyers, and Tristan Jarry will play the second half.
Sullivan said that his opinion on the goaltending situation was not changed by their performances in training camp.
"These guys have a significant body of work with the Penguins organization," said Sullivan. "We know what they're capable of. So what we're trying to do with each and every one of our guys is to allow our guys the opportunity to go through this process to capture their game. This is a unique circumstance, our goaltenders are no different than any other player on our team in that regard. We're just, as coaches, going to try to facilitate that process as best we can."
It's still undecided whether Sidney Crosby will play.
"We're going to allow Sid to go through his game-day routine," Sullivan said. "Obviously, a 4 o'clock game makes it a litle more challenging. We'll make a decision on Sid sometime this afternoon on whether or not he's going to play."
All other regulars in the Penguins' lineup will play.
