Update, Monday: Arpon Basu reported today that two of the three positive tests were false positives. The third positive test remains a positive test.
At least three Canadiens players have tested positive for coronavirus, Montreal writer Arpon Basu reported on Sunday.
It is currently the NHL's policy to not comment on specific teams or players testing positive for the virus, and teams are prohibited from releasing any information related to testing on their own.
The Canadiens are scheduled to begin training camp at their practice facility in Brossard, Quebec on Monday.
Defenseman Karl Alzner, who would have been on the Canadiens' expanded playoff roster, has already opted out of the remainder of the season. The Canadiens' No. 3 leading scorer, forward Max Domi, has reached an agreement with the team to delay his decision on whether to report another 7-10 days, because he has Type 1 diabetes.
