The NHL seems to be moving steadily toward a resumption of operations, as league officials appear to be increasingly optimistic that they'll get the clearance they need from medical and political authorities to stage games again.
Indications are that the league will go directly to the Stanley Cup playoffs (after a training camp), with lots of momentum lately for starting the tournament with 24 teams, up from the usual 16.
What do you think about that idea? Do you feel that any particular type of team -- veteran, young, etc. -- will be less affected by the long layoff than others? What, if anything, would you like you see done to minimize the impact of games being played in empty arenas?
This is the place to discuss those things, and everything else to do with hockey.
