Hobbled Conner, Snell leave team thin at RB taken at Heinz Field (Steelers)

The Steelers dug out of a 14-0 first-quarter hole to defeat the Dolphins, 27-14, Monday night at Heinz Field — but injury concerns linger in the wake of the victory.

James Conner left the game late in the fourth quarter after this hit:

Go ahead and read the lips of Dr. James Bradley, team physician, up there in that gif. Sure seems like he says "dislocated" then "clavicle ... clavicle."

Mike Tomlin, addressing media after the game, had this to say about the injuries:

"Ramon Foster had a concussion. He's in the protocol," Tomlin began. "Benny Snell's getting his knee evaluated. Maurkice Pouncey hurt his calf but was able to finish the game. James Conner has got a shoulder/AC [injury] being evaluated. We'll know more about those guys; I'll update you guys tomorrow in our normal press conference."

Tomlin, as he mentions in that quote, will meet for his weekly press conference with reporters at the Rooney Complex Tuesday at noon ET. Conner's shoulder was heavily wrapped and iced after the game in the Steelers' locker room, but that's anything but scientific, so we'll wait on Tomlin's official word where that's concerned.

The injury, if serious, could prove troublesome for the 3-4 Steelers. Snell also suffered a knee injury in the win over the Dolphins, while Jaylen Samuels was inactive after coming off a knee scope earlier this month. Samuels, however, was a full participant throughout practice leading up to the Week 8 contest, and he could potentially return next Sunday to face the Colts.

Last year, as a rookie, in starting duties against the Patriots, Samuels ran for 142 yards on 19 carries, adding another 30 yards on two catches through the air.

Behind Conner, Samuels and Snell is Trey Edmunds, who has largely served on special teams for the Steelers in 2018 and 2019. He received one carry for zero yards in the team's win over the Dolphins after Conner went down.
