Please help me welcome Mike's Beer Bar to our family of partners!
As is the case with nearly all of our partners, the owner, Mike Sukitch, is a subscriber to DK Pittsburgh Sports. A Lifetime Lunatic, actually. And if that wasn't reason enough to like him, he's an amazing guy.
Many of you, I'm sure, have already visited Mike’s Beer Bar (formerly Beerhead Bar) before or after games at PNC Park. It's on Federal Street, right across from the left-field gate. But it's grown for the better quite a bit under Mike's ownership in the past year, becoming the craft beer destination in our city: 80 rotating taps and over 500 beers, including more than 5o brewed locally. You never have to drink the same beer twice!
In addition to a ton of beer and live entertainment, Mike's Beer Bar and our own business will be bringing you a new video weekly feature -- "Sports on Tap." Hunter Homistek and Matt Sunday, craft experts in their own right, will be hosting the show while sampling a beer flight. Expect heated sports topics, occasional guests .... and very happy hosts!
Want to join Mike and get your own business involved with ours?
We're always looking to grow our base of partners, and there currently are several very good opportunities available to take advantage of our unprecedented reach. Our 2019 media kit has all the info you’d want. Email me at Dali@DKPittsburghSports.com to set up a meeting.
Trust me, we've got room for you, too!
SAN FRANCISCO MEETUP
The Bay Area's always been awesome for subscriber meetups, so I flew out here a day early to set one up. And, based on a reader recommendation, it'll be at Giordano Bros., a self-described 'Pittsburgh-style sandwich shop' in San Francisco's Mission District, one that's long been known as a hangout for our people.
Let's shoot for 2 p.m.
Hope to see you here! -- DK in San Francisco
THE BIG TECH THING
We're going to build an all-new app, an all-new site, as was announced here earlier in the month. All of that continues, and it's consuming ... well, pretty much all our waking hours.
This week's question for you on that front, and it's an important one toward this process: When you read our live files, how do you navigate between our staff's input on the stream in the article, while also working in the comments? Do you just stay on one for a while? Shuffle up and down? Neither? -- DK
VETERAN COUNT: 320
Early this year, our friend Josh DeNinno at Moon Golf Club came up with the concept of pushing all of us to reach 1,000 full-year military subscriptions for the calendar year through his Veterans Challenge. And to back that, Josh is buying 10 a month himself for a total of 100, leaving 900 for everyone else. To date, we've sold and committed 320. That's appreciated. Here’s where to contribute. -- DK
