The Penguins started the unofficial second half of their regular season in familiar fashion.

A year ago, they used their speed and depth to take the NHL by storm in the second half. They showed remnants of that against the Predators on Tuesday night when Patric Hornqvist scored twice against his old team in a 4-2 victory at PPG Paints Arena.

The Penguins again played without the injured Evgeni Malkin, who could be available later this week, but Kris Letang made his return and turned in a strong two-way game.
