The high-flying Penguins were grounded to a halt Tuesday at PPG Paints Arena.

Struggling entering the game, the Blues played Ken Hitchcock hockey to near perfection — which is to say, the game was far from perfect, boring the crowd to near silence — in a 3-0 victory against the Penguins. Carter Hutton earned his second career shutout against the Penguins.

"It was," Olli Maatta told me after the game, "a St. Louis kind of game."
