Rene Castro missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer, leaving Duquesne to succumb to a 65-63 loss to George Washington at the Smith Center in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night.

Duquesne erased an 11-point halftime deficit bit by bit in the second half. Mike Lewis II hit a layup to bring the Dukes within five with 9:04 to go and then Tarin Smith and Isiaha Mike hit crucial shots down the stretch, including a jumper from Smith at 4:24 to tie the game at 56. But George Washington's Jaren Sina hit a 3 with 36 seconds left to increase the Colonials lead to 63-57, and Duquesne never caught back up.
