Duquesne nearly erased a double-digit deficit but couldn't fight off LaSalle's in a 3-point contest that turned out as an 88-81 loss for the Dukes Saturday inside Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia.

The Explorers did plenty of exploring — and unloading — from beyond the 3-point arch as they cashed in on 10 of 25 from deep, including a dagger from Jordan Price with 2:16 to go in the game that extended LaSalle's lead to 76-68.

The Dukes' did, however, manage to pull the score within three points at the 4:05 mark but the Explorers then made good on 12 of 12 from the free throw line in the final 3:48 to seal the deal. LaSalle missed just one free throw all game, going 24 for 25 from the line while Duquesne attempted just eight from the charity stripe all game, making just five.
