It was only fitting that the Stanley Cup champions from the early 90s were on hand Saturday night at PPG Paints Arena to see the Penguins take on the Red Wings.

If ever a team could flip on the switch, it was those guys. And the latest generation has developed a similar gift.

Down most of the evening, they exploded for four third-period goals on their way to a 5-3 victory. Phil Kessel led the way with two goals, including the game-winner, as the Penguins pulled within two points of the Rangers for first place in the Metropolitan Division.
