His time here might be short, but his impact on the Pirates has already been outsized.

Iván Nova threw his second complete game since coming over from the Yankees, shutting down the Reds on six hits to help the Pirates to a 4-1 victory Thursday night at PNC Park.

Nova needed 94 pitches to go the distance for the second time in four starts and the fifth time in his career. He struck out four and walked none, the fourth time he hasn't issued a free pass in seven starts as a Pirate.

"The way I've been pitching, I feel like one or two (runs) is enough," Nova said.
