Ivan Nova threw a complete game and Gregory Polanco hit two home runs as the Pirates defiantly ended their four-game losing streak with a 7-1 victory against the Astros on Tuesday night at PNC Park.

Polanco now has 19 home runs, a career high.

The Pirates started the bottom of the first with six consecutive hits, scoring four times, and never looked back.

Nova lost his bid for a shutout in the ninth inning but pitched a gem, inducing soft contact from the Astros throughout the evening. He required only 98 pitches to record the complete game.

More to come.
