One-two punch of Fleury, Oleksy flattens N.J.

They were dominant, but it was still in doubt.

Such was the paradox in the second period of the Penguins' eventual 4-1 dismissal of the staggering Devils on Friday night at PPG Paints Arena.

On a night when the Penguins had 22 of the first 25 shot attempts and 47 of the first 62, the Devils were within one late in the second period and apparently gaining confidence. But a handful of key saves from Marc-Andre Fleury and a brutal Steve Oleksy fight signaled the home team's recapture of the proceedings.

“That was a rough one last night,” Fleury said, referencing the 7-1 smackdown administered by Columbus on Thursday. “It was good we got to play right away and didn’t have to spend all Christmas thinking about it. Had a chance to redeem ourselves and I though the guys had a great game."
