At times in the second half, Aaron Tate was visibly slowing down. Hands on his knees and head down, Tate walked to and from sideline huddles. At the same time, Kavon Stewart's face showed visible frustration for much of the game as he watched a 12-point lead slip away and turn into a five-point advantage for Buffalo.

But then the two seniors remembered what their coach has been telling them leading up to this game, the final one before they were to receive some time off for the holidays.

"We talked about leaving it all on the floor," Andy Toole said. "Just leave everything you can out there. You'll have plenty of time to recover and get rejuvenated before Monday when we have to practice again. That's what guys kept talking about, leaving it all out there."
