TORONTO -- It had been almost two weeks since Marc-Andre Fleury previously played, so there was plenty on his mind entering the Penguins' game Saturday against the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centrey.

Then, Fleury felt the skate blade of James van Riemsdyk slice through this throat. Suddenly, hockey didn't matter so much, as Fleury had a close encounter with a Clint Malarchuk type of incident.

"That," Fleury told me about the Malarchuk play, "was the first thing that went through my mind."
