MIAMI — A solution to the problem that turned Pitt from an ACC Coastal Division contender to a team fighting for bowl eligibility was nearly found.

Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya picked apart the Panthers' secondary to spark a 27-point first half, but Pitt's defense began to limit the Hurricanes' explosive plays.

A second-half comeback was within reach until the offense imploded.

Pitt left Hard Rock Stadium with its second consecutive loss after two turnovers in the second half helped Miami's offense pull away, 51-28, Saturday in front of 51,796 fans in an ACC Coastal Division game.
