MILWAUKEE -- Francisco Cervelli said it Saturday, when asked how he played the day after getting carried off the field with a bruised foot.

"We're on a mission, and we don't have much time."

Those last five words might sound a little dramatic with nine weeks to play, but they are indeed true. With Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers at Miller Park — completing a Milwaukee sweep — the Pirates are in danger of losing touch with the National League wild card leaders.

After trailing the rebuilding Brewers for all 27 innings this weekend, they're four games behind the league's final playoff spot. The screws are tightening, and after their ninth consecutive loss here, that tension is starting to show.
